Software Alternatives for Linux: There are many softwares which do not have linux versions. Informing people about their Linux counterparts.
Informing about those softwares which have both Linux and Windows Versions like VLC Player, Mozilla Firefox etc.

Repositories: Explaining the People about the terminology called Repositories. This is quite a common term, newbies usually are baffled when they hear something like these. They start considering Linux too technical and over their heads.
Explaining its meaning in a layman's Language.
Differences between EXE's and Package: Explaining the people why there is no double click standalone installers. There are lots of threats of malwares and OS crashes if unauthorized access is granted to these installers. How Packages are installed if they are not standalone.
Explaining how to enable the repositories, check for new updates and creating a backup of Packages.

Types of Packages: There are basically more than one type of package managment tools available for Linux. Most common are Red Hat's YUM and Debian's APT. All other distros use this system for management.
People have Fedora 8 installed on their system which uses YUM as the Package Management, though Fedora is quite popular, still the most popular distro is Ubuntu which uses APT for its package management. Explaining this package management in brief is the aim. More stress will be given to YUM.

1. /dev 2. /etc 3. /home 4. /usr and /usr/sbin and /usr/bin (including differences between the last two) 5. /root (explaining the difference between / and /root as both of them about pronounced the same)
